Activités de la Plateforme Afrique Centrale

The Central Africa Platform (PAC) team has already put in place a number of activities that give concrete expression to the platform's missions in the Central African landscape. These activities enable ULiège and its local partners to make their presence felt in both North and South.

Organizing public events

In support of ULiège, PAC members have organized several events. The organization of these events follows specific objectives such as disseminating information on research topics, identifying new partners and donors, and raising the profile of university cooperation activities in DR Congo.

- Bicentenary of ULiège in Kinshasa in 2018
- UNIKIN-ULiège Health symposium 2019
- ULiège alumni evening in Kinshasa in 2022
- Symposium on fiscal federalism 2022

Disseminating and sharing resources

As part of this mission, PAC works to network, monitor and train alumni, North-South and South-South researchers and institutions in the South. To this end, it maintains regular links and activities specifically with the Université de Kinshasa, the Université de Kikwit, the Université de Lubumbashi and the Université Notre Dame du Kasaï/ Université de Kolwes.

To this end, PAC has also set up the regular publication of a newsletter which it distributes to its North and South network.

Facilitating, managing and expanding local cooperation activities

The Platform team manages certain aspects (invitations, reception, reservations, resource persons, etc.) of the mobility of ULiège staff during their missions to the South. This support also extends to researchers from the South, helping them to obtain their visas. On the other hand, the members of the PAC are responsible for identifying resource persons, and formulating and implementing university development cooperation projects jointly managed by ULiège and a local academic partner. It is in this context that the PAC supports the identification and supervision of doctoral students through the organization of doctoral seminars and the reading of thesis projects. Last but not least, the PAC is also involved in collecting local funds for ULiège researchers.
