Call for application | DOCT.IN 2026 funding
Wallonie-Bruxelles International (WBI) is launching a call DOCT.IN 2026-2027 for incoming doctoral scholarships in the Wallonie-Brussels Federation. For this call (with funding starting in 1st october 2026), a maximum of three doctoral scholarships will be awarded to candidates previously admitted to a doctoral program at ULiège or carried out as part of a formal joint supervision arrangement with a foreign partner institution.
This call for applications is open until 31 March at 11.59 p.m. internally at the University of Liège.
Funding
The financial support is 20.979,63,- € per year and varies depending on the year of the thesis. This contribution covers part of the costs associated with the stay, and any additional financial support received must be declared by the candidate in the application form.
The funding is granted for a maximum of 4 years (for doctoral students starting their PhD in 2026-27).
Eligibility criteria
European or non-European candidates are eligible if :
- Candidates are admitted to a doctoral program at ULiège for 2026-27.
- The most recent postgraduate degree of the candidates (master's degree with 120 ECTS credits) must have been awarded no more than five years prior to the start of the doctoral program.
- Candidates do not benefit from ULiège funding. This funding may be combined with other sources of funding (recommanded).
